QA Manager - Compensation: 60-70K in La Grange, Arkansas

 
Quality Assurance Manager
 
            Perform essential duties that relate to the quality of the products produced at the facility.  The manager is a part of the plant management staff and will perform the duties listed below.  In addition to providing quality leadership activities for the facility, the position will also interact with customer service and sales as needed to resolve and prevent quality issues related to manufacturing defects.  In the absence of the Production Manager, the Quality Manager may be asked to provide leadership on an interim basis, if necessary.  The Quality Manager is expected to be at work by 6am on weekdays in order to spend at least 1 hour each day with the night shifts, Mon ? Friday.  This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
 
 
Position Objectives:
·         Manages the Quality System  and provides product quality leadership including significant daily interaction with production employees
·         Primarily responsible for driving the Customer Quality Return metric
·         Manages the product safety system
·         Monitors and corrects quality issues by addressing Key program responsibilities:
o   1st Piece Quality Inspection
o   New employee quality training
o   Continuing employee quality training
o   Performs product audits of each line M-F
o   Performs weekly QC special audits (Gauge, COF, Static, Shrink %)
·         Provides leadership on customer quality issues and acts as liaison to production employees
·         Answers customer complaints (per ISO system) and customer surveys as requested
·         Takes primary responsibility for successful production trials
·         Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Quality Testing lab and test equipment
·         Assists in evaluation of employees as pertaining to quality issues
·         Completes Corporate and plant reports/paperwork in a timely manner
·         Works to implement continuous improvement ideas that prevent defective product from being produced
·         Audits employees thru testing and ensures the quality system is effective
·         Responsible for satisfactory completion of ISO requirements
·         Participates in plant staff meetings and provides continual improvement leadership plus:
o   Leads AIB inspections
o   Assists in setting appropriate process settings for products (heat profiles, etc.)
o   Safety participation
o   Troubleshooting (product and process)
 
Requirements:
·         5 years of experience in a quality field and/or 5 years as a Supervisor or Manager
·         Previous experience with blown film production
·         Previous experience training and coaching employees
·         Bi-lingual English/Spanish
 
Preferences:
·         Associates degree
·         Certification as an ASQ Technician or Engineer is desirable
